Aneroid sits in southwestern Saskatchewan, about 70 kilometres southeast of Swift Current, where Highway 13 (the Red Coat Trail, also called the Ghost Town Trail) meets Highway 609. The community's post office opened on February 1, 1911, under the name Val Blair. It was renamed Aneroid on December 1, 1913.
